General & Booking
Are you open all year?
Our Timber Pods are open all year round, the campsite and Bell Tents are open from April to the end of October.
Why isn’t the booking system showing the unit I am looking for?
Please ensure you have put in the correct arrival and departure date and that your search criteria meets the minimum number of nights for the dates you are looking for. Further information on minimum nights stay are listed on this page.
Can I pay a deposit to make the booking?
We take a 50% deposit at the time of booking with the remaining balance due 60 days before arrival.
How can I add extras after I’ve already booked?
After you’ve made a booking please give us a call on 01765 710 247 or email hello@catgillfarm.co.uk and we can add extras to your booking.
What if I need to cancel?
Please see our cancellation policy for details.
Do you take group bookings?
We accept bookings from the following; families, couples, groups aged 18 and over (by prior arrangement), groups 16 – 18 accompanied by an adult, Duke of Edinburgh or similar groups.
We do not accept bookings from stag/hen parties or unaccompanied under 16s.
Can we book the whole site?
You can book all the glamping accommodation, but we do not book out the whole campsite.
Can we have our wedding at your campsite?
We don’t offer weddings or functions at the campsite.
How many cars are in included in my booking?
We allow one car per tent pitch or glamping unit. Please note we only have a very limited number of additional spaces for extra cars on our site. Please let us know if you would like to bring an extra car before arriving on site so we can make sure we have capacity for this.
Glamping
What time can I arrive and depart (glamping)?
Check in is from 3:30pm until 5pm each day (9pm Friday, high season only) unless you have prebooked a 1:30pm early arrival. Check out is at 10:00am. Please contact us if you would like to add this to your booking. Please note we have limited availability each day.
Are dogs allowed in the glamping accommodation?
3 of our glamping pods are dog friendly. To book a stay with your dog you must select one of these pods – The Duck, The Pheasant and The Stag. The cost is £25 for your stay for 1 dog and this includes a towel, blanket, poo bags, treats and additional cleaning after your stay. We can accommodate an additional dog at the discretion of our team, please give us a call on 01756710247. We do not allow dogs in our bell tents. Why can’t I see the dog extra on the extras page?
This means our dog friendly pods are unavailable on the dates you have selected.
Can I smoke in the glamping accommodation?
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the pods and bell tents. If there is evidence of smoking this will result in you forfeiting your deposit.
What should we do if we lose, break or damage something?
Please let us know so that we can replace or repair it. An inventory for each pod and bell tent is provided and you should check this on arrival. Items that are missing, broken or damaged during your stay must be paid for. We will make a charge from your security deposit for all items not paid for prior to departure.
Do we need to clean before we leave?
- Please help us keep our glamping accommodations in top condition by leaving your space as you found it. Before you go, kindly wash, dry, and put away all kitchen items, give surfaces a quick wipe down, and sweep the floor. You’ll find everything you need for cleaning in the kitchen. We do ask that any guests who leave a mess will be charged an additional £25 cleaning fee.
Will our pod or bell tent be cleaned, or bedding changed during our stay?
We will change your towels and bedding, on request, if you are staying for a week or longer.
Can we cook in the pods and bell tents?
The pods have a small kitchen with a two-ring ceramic hob and microwave. The bell tents have a log burner with cooking plate. Both have a pizza oven below the outside fire pit. Your pod or bell tent is well kitted out with pots, pans and cooking utensils.
Can we BBQ?
Each pod and bell tent has a fire pit including a cooking grill that can be used to bbq.
How many people can the accommodation sleep?
The pods can sleep up to 6 but we recommend no more than 4 adults. The bell tents can sleep up to 4 but we recommend no more than 2 adults.
Do you allow group bookings in the timber pods or bell tents?
If you or your group plan to book more than 2 timber pods or bell tents, please call us to discuss your requirements before making a booking. We may cancel group bookings without prior notice if you have not contacted us.
Camping
Do you have a minimum night stay?
Bank holiday weekends are a minimum 3-night stay. Weekends from June – September are a minimum 2-night stay.
How do I make sure I am pitched with my friends or family?
If you have booked an electric pitch please email us your reference number and we will do our best to ensure your pitches are next to each other. Please note – for ehu pitches if you wish to camp next to your friends you must all book the same size pitch. For non-electric bookings, we do not allocate pitches, so just turn up and find yourself a pitch. The family that arrives first can mark out a reasonable sized area for the other family.
Can I bring my dog?
Obedient dogs are welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and must not be left unattended. Please clean up immediately after your dog.
Do you have electric hook up?
We have electric hook up with a 10amp supply. Please bring a 15 metre cable with a male IP44 rated site socket plug.
Can I bring a bbq or fire pit?
You can bring your own bbq or fire pit as long as it is raised off the ground and does not burn the grass. Disposable bbq’s should be on a stand which you can borrow from reception with a £10 deposit. No open fires are allowed. Please note if you burn the grass, you will be charged £25 for its repair.
Can I hire a fire pit from you?
You can hire one of our fire baskets from reception and it comes with logs and kindling. You can’t pre-book these, but you can get one on arrival.
Can I charge my phone?
The toilet and shower block has plug sockets or we can charge your phone at reception.
What time can I arrive and depart?
Check in is from 1pm and check out is 12pm. Reception closes at 7pm each evening (9pm Friday, high season only). If you cannot make this time please let us know.
What are your noise regulations?
Please be considerate to your neighbours at all times. Quiet hours are between 10:30pm and 7:00am. No vehicle movements during these times. Please be aware that this is a family campsite and excessive noise will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave.
Can I play music?
Music players/radios must be kept to a reasonable volume and switched off by 9:00pm.
Can I bring an electric generator?
We do not allow generators on the site due to the noise they create. We do offer electric hook up camping pitches.
