Glamping with your dog – what to bring?

Packing to go away can be difficult enough and throws up so many questions … Do I need a fancy outfit if we go out for dinner? Do I need a sun hat? How many pairs of knickers are too many? All that comes before you have even thought about what to take for your pampered pooch too, but with our handy guide, we have taken away all the guesswork!

Their Bed

A home away from home, keep your best pals fully relaxed by providing them somewhere comfy to sleep. If your dog is a little nervous in new situations this will provide a safe space for them that smells familiar too.

Poop bags

There’s no easy way to say it but when nature calls there isn’t much else to do except pick it up and pop it into the small bin provided on your patio.

Food and Water bowls

Changing up your pooch’s routine can be stressful for them so anything that reminds them of home can only be a good thing, providing them with their own bowls is one way of doing that. Don’t worry, our pods have a fully equipped kitchen for humans.

Food and treats

That last point brings us nicely onto this one – keeping your dog’s feeding routine the same can also help them settle. If you are planning to take advantage of the many walking routes around us your pooch is sure to burn lots of calories so a few extra treats here and there wouldn’t go a miss, after all, they are on their holidays too.

An extendable or long lead

Dogs explore the world through their noses and with this in mind, we will provide a spiral stake to pop into the grass outside your pod. Simply attach the end of your dog’s lead to it and they can explore and sniff to their heart’s content without being able to stray too far from view.

A cooling mat or coat

Be sure to check the weather before you arrive, if the weather is on your side, the patio outside your pod is a real suntrap so keeping your furry friend cool will be on the agenda. Having a cooling mat to hand means that you can all enjoy the weather together without you worrying about your pooch overheating. Equally as important, we wouldn’t want your little amigos getting cold, bring along a coat to keep them toasty and protect them from the rain. (We are in the Yorkshire Dales after all)

That is about all we can think of, we will provide a towel and a super soft doggy blanket for your 4-legged friend to use during their stay. We also have a dog wash located at the main toilet block near our reception should your dog need a quick hose down after exploring the local area.

All that’s left to do is enjoy your stay!!
